　　上海戏剧学院是中国培养戏剧艺术、传统戏曲、影视、舞蹈专门人才的高等艺术院校,创建于一九四五年。
　　学院现有华山路、莲花路、虹桥路三个校区，除本部的表演、导演、戏剧文学、舞台美术四个系，还下设四个学院：戏曲学院、舞蹈学院、电视艺术学院、创意学院，两所附属中等艺术学校：舞蹈学校、戏曲学校。
　　学院教学设施完善,实验剧院、小剧场、新实验空间与黑匣子工作室等分别适合各类教学与教学实习演出。图书馆收藏的戏剧类艺术类的图书齐全，学生公寓、餐厅、健身房给学生提供了良好的生活条件。
　　学院有广泛的国际联系, 同世界上十几个国家和地区的许多戏剧院校和团体建立了广泛的合作关系, 学术交流频繁。每年有来自世界各地的学生来报读学习各类专业、包括对外汉语在内的不同系科、不同层次的课程。

　　Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA)is a higher art institution dedicated to the education of theatre specialists in China. Founded on 1 December 1945, the present STA comprises 3 campuses, located on Huashan Road, Linhua Road and Hongqiao Road respectively. In addition to the four departments of acting, directing, stage design and dramatic literature at the Huashan Road campus, where STA is headquartered, it also has four subordinating colleges, as well as two affiliated schools
　　The main campus of STA is located in the central area of Shanghai. The campus is quiet and tasteful with a full range of teaching and learning facilities. The library stores a rich and complete collection of theatrical books and journals. The student apartments, canteen, and gym provide the students with good living conditions.
　　STA started accepting the international students for Chinese language study in the mid 1980s. Taking advantage of its professional strength, STA has been able to develop and maintain a unique feature in its Chinese language teaching for international students from the every beginning。
